Emissivity Chart - Emissivity is defined as the ratio of the energy radiated from an object's surface to the energy. Watts of energy per unit of area. Emissivity is essentially the ratio of the emissive power of a real body, compared to that of a blackbody. Emitted energy indicates the temperature of the object. Thus, emissivity always falls between 0 and 1. The emissivity (ε) of a material is the relative ability of its surface to emit heat by radiation. Emissivity is the measure of an object's ability to emit infrared energy. Emissivity ( ϵ ϵ ) is the ratio of radiation emitted by a surface to that emitted by a blackbody at the same temperature. The emissivity, ε, of the surface of a material is its effectiveness in emitting energy as thermal radiation and varies between 0.0 and 1.0.
