Bedwetting, or nocturnal enuresis, happens when someone accidentally pees while sleeping. Bedwetting (nocturnal enuresis) is the act of urinating during sleep, particularly at the age of 5 or older. Because this is normal in infants and very young children, bedwetting is not. When children wet only in their sleep, that is called monosymptomatic nocturnal. Bedwetting is an involuntary release of urine when sleeping. Nocturnal enuresis (ne), also informally called bedwetting, is involuntary urination while asleep after the age at which bladder control usually begins.
